Awards

  • The External Scholarship Committee will consider up to twelve $1,000 one-time scholarships awarded directly to students for tuition or other college-related costs

Criteria & Eligibility

  • Must be a high school senior
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Plan to attend a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university
  • *Eligible students must be a child, stepchild, or under legal guardianship of an active HarborOne Bank or HarborOne Mortgage employee. HarborOne recognizes domestic partnerships status for its employee benefits therefore children of domestic partners are eligible.
  • Additionally, for a student to be eligible, the employee must work a regular schedule of at least 20 hours per week and be employed by the company as of January 3, 2024, or 3 months before the start of the Program’s application process
  • Grandchildren of employees are not eligible to apply unless the employee serves as the student’s legal guardian
  • Children, stepchildren, or those under legal guardianship of Senior Management of HarborOne Bank and HarborOne Mortgage, as well as Boards of Directors are ineligible

How to Apply

In preparation for completing the online application, we suggest you:

  • Read all instructions carefully and pay close attention to the appropriate links to apply and revisit a saved application
  • Request a copy of your official or unofficial transcript from your guidance counselor to be uploaded. If you cannot get your transcripts, please upload your most recent report card. Double-check that the transcript or report card you upload is readable. Scanned Word doc or PDF are preferred no JPGs, please.
  • Identify a teacher or guidance counselor to provide a letter of recommendation to be uploaded. Recommendations are not required, but highly suggested. Only one letter of recommendation will be read per application
  • Application is available April 1, 2024, and is due May 31, 2024

Process and Notification

  • Applications are reviewed by an impartial independent outside committee of non-bank professionals in the field of higher education
  • Decisions are based on the student’s academic transcript, personal essays, participation in community and school activities as well as awards and recognition received. A letter of recommendation is highly suggested
  • All applicants will be notified of decisions by mid-June
