HarborOne Bank expands into Rhode Island with opening of Providence office
HarborOne Bank will expand into Rhode Island with the opening of a commercial loan office in downtown Providence.
Starting June 1, HarborOne Bank will provide commercial lending services from its new Commercial Center office. The opening advances HarborOne’s plans to build its commercial lending business and will initially feature two veteran HarborOne lenders with extensive experience in the southeastern MA and Providence markets.
“We’re looking forward to the opportunity to help Rhode Island businesses grow and develop as we expand the HarborOne footprint into Rhode Island,” said HarborOne President and CEO James W. Blake. “Introducing new customers to our brand and our lending expertise is an integral part of our growth strategy and we have a terrific commercial lending team ready to start working with Providence business owners.”
The expansion into Rhode Island builds on HarborOne’s announcement earlier this month that the bank will acquire Merrimack Mortgage Company, Inc. of Manchester, NH – a privately held home loan originator that averages $1 billion in home loans each year. The Providence location will be HarborOne’s first new commercial office since becoming New England’s largest co-operative bank in 2013.
HarborOne’s new Providence office will be located in the financial district at Suite 703 of 40 Westminster Street in downtown Providence. HarborOne Vice Presidents Mathew Insana and George Sadler will lead the office’s commercial lending services.
Insana has served as a HarborOne Commercial Lending Officer since 2012 and will work with business owners to provide commercial financing to support growth, capital needs, and cash flow. A Providence College graduate and Rhode Island native, Insana has specialized in commercial lending for nearly 30 years, most recently at Rockland Trust and the former Sovereign Bank.
Sadler, a Commercial Real Estate Lending Officer, will work with developers, investors and owners on real estate projects throughout the region. Sadler, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts joined HarborOne in March 2014 and brings three decades of commercial real estate lending experience, having worked in Rhode Island for both RBS Citizens Financial Group and the former Fleet National Bank.
