State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg visits Brockton financial empowerment program

“At HarborOne, we know that we’re investing in Brockton’s future when we equip residents with financial tools for success,” said James W. Blake, President & CEO of HarborOne Bank. “Through HarborOne U, we have worked to expand our collaboration with NeighborWorks Southern Mass. and widen our offerings for residents. Financial empowerment is key to spurring growth in Brockton and we’re committed to building a more vibrant City of Champions.”

Treasurer Goldberg created the Office of Economic Empowerment, dedicated to reaching out to residents across the state through financial literacy, college affordability, and programming to support wage equality.

“We’re thrilled to have State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg here to see our Financial Power class,” said Brian Moriarty, the Brockton Homeownership Director for NeighborWorks Southern Mass. “We know that she’s very passionate about financial education, so this gives her an opportunity to see a great program in action.”

Moriarty also thanked HarborOne Bank for its collaboration on the financial education as well as for in-kind office space.

“HarborOne Bank’s partnership with NeighborWorks Southern Mass. shows a huge commitment to the community,” Moriarty said.
