HarborOne’s 2016 awards are part of a larger commitment to education, with HarborOne pledging to award $1 million over the next 10 years to provide college scholarships to deserving students. Over the past eleven years, HarborOne Bank has provided more than $100,000 in scholarships to exceptional students from throughout southeastern Massachusetts.

Scholarship winners were chosen based on their commitment to community and academic excellence. Eligible candidates include high school seniors whose immediate family has an active account at HarborOne.

Recipients were chosen from a competitive pool of applicants by a committee of HarborOne employee volunteers. Committee members based their decisions on a number of factors, including students’ academic transcript, level of participation in community and school activities, letters of recommendation, awards and recognition received, and personal essays.
