HarborOne Bank Awards $7,000 to Winning Entrepreneurs in Small Business Pitch Contest
HarborOne Bank awarded three prizes totaling $7,000 to three small business entrepreneurs as part of their third annual Small Business “Pitch Contest,” hosted by HarborOne U. On June 12, ten entrepreneurs were selected from a pool of over 50 applicants to present their business plans to five judges in competition for a $5,000 first place price to help grow and develop their business. Two runner-ups received $1,000 prizes in the competition.
The event was held at HarborOne U, the bank’s community education center that offers free financial literacy and small business courses at locations in Brockton and Mansfield. The small business pitch contest was designed to provide the opportunity for area entrepreneurs to present their business plans and ideas in a constructive, fun and friendly forum. Each applicant had five minutes to present a business plan and growth strategy. Participants were judged on presentation, marketing and sales strategy and financials.
The winners include:
- First place and the $5,000 prize went to Patrick Beck of Hope Valley, RI for New England Grass Fed, LLC, which is dedicated to producing the finest 100 percent grass-fed beef, pastoralized pork, goat and rabbit with the help of local grazing partners.
- Runner Up and $1,000 prize went to Marc Saint Clair and Eddy Jules of Infocus Entertainment based in Randolph, MA. Infocus Entertainment is a collaboration of talents focusing on melding multi-media productions and social media. The organization prides itself on being able to offer top-notch services and products at affordable prices.
- Runner Up and $1,000 prize went to Dale Roseman of Veggie Tables, LLC based in Sharon, MA. Veggie Tables is a food service that focuses on helping people find pathways to better eating.
