HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island Awards $201,000 in Grants

(Providence, RI) – July 15, 2022 – Year Up Rhode Island, was among sixteen recipients of the bi-annual HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island grants benefiting local children and families. HarborOne’s grant will support Year Up’s job training program and provide skills to young adults looking to join the workforce in RI. The organization is committed to providing equitable access for all young adults. Through direct services and strategic partnerships, Year Up closes the opportunity divide and assists young adults in launching and furthering their careers.

HarborOne’s grant award will also support the Festival Ballet Providence. The grant will be utilized for a portfolio of transformative diversity and inclusion initiatives that includes multiple efforts: Funding tuition assistance for promising dance students of color through the Derrick Davis Memorial Fund; Providing recruitment support for BIPOC educators and dancers and choreographers; and Supporting program initiatives to include connecting BIPOC professional dancers and choreographers with aspiring dance students.

Since its inception, The HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island has invested over $1 Million to support and expand the work of community non-profits including those organizations that promote educational opportunity, create access to safe and affordable housing and provide basic human services to our most vulnerable citizens.
