Brockton Area Multi Services Inc. (BAMSI) receives HarborOne Bank’s James W. Blake “Catalyst” Award of $25,000

Brockton Area Multi Services Inc. (BAMSI), a Brockton based nonprofit with programs across Eastern Massachusetts supporting people with developmental disabilities and mental and behavioral health challenges, was selected to receive HarborOne’s Inaugural James W. Blake “Catalyst” Award. The annual Award is named for retired HarborOne Bank CEO James W. Blake and embodies Jim’s long-term commitment of investing in transformative projects that serve underrepresented and economically challenged individuals and families and assist local organizations to accelerate organizational development, impact, and reach.“I could not be happier to have the first “Catalyst Award” be given to a tremendous organization like BAMSI that is providing critical services to seniors and others who may need resources and care,” said Jim Blake. “And special thanks to the great team at HarborOne for the honor and making this important investment possible.”
BAMSI’s will utilize the funds to help increase the capacity of its critical Helpline team specifically tasked with focusing on the needs of low-income seniors. In 2022, BAMSI’s Helpline provided support to 2,401 individuals in 1,251 households. They anticipate that with the funding received from HarborOne Bank they can increase the percentage of seniors served by 20% in the coming year.
