(Providence, RI) – December 13, 2022 – The Boys & Girls Club of Providence (BGCP), was among nine recipients of HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island’s bi-annual grants benefiting local children and families. HarborOne’s $5,000 grant to BGCP will support the organization’s efforts to fight food security for children and teens aged 5-18. The club’s eight service sites across the city of Providence provide children and teens access to nutritious meals and snacks. At BGCP, children and young adults spend their time in a safe and structured environment to play, grow, and learn, enhancing the young club members’ physical and mental health.

“The HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island is proud to support the important work of all nine of these tremendously important nonprofits,” said Jennifer White, Board Member, HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island. “The Foundation’s work is centered on investing in programs and leaders who are having a transformative impact on their local community and the Boys & Girls Club of Providence is a wonderful example of just that -- fostering a safe, positive, and accepting environment where young people can thrive.”

Since its inception, The HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island has invested over $1 million to support and expand the work of community non-profits including organizations that promote educational opportunity, create access to safe and affordable housing and provide basic human services to our most vulnerable citizens.
