Piggy Bankers

It's never too early to learn about earning, spending and saving money.  Piggy Bankers is a program that was developed through the collaboration between Self Help Inc./Coordinated Family & Community Engagement and HarborOne U.  This program consists of a series of parent-child activities for children 3-6 years of age that introduce them to the concept of money through stories and fun activities.

Each of the three forty minute sessions consists of a story and an activity related to that story.  “We believe that introducing children to the concepts of money at an early age will instill in them the importance and value of earning, saving and spending money wisely,” says Maureen Wilkinson, Vice President of Community Education at HarborOne U.

HarborOne U not only offers financial education at their facilities in Mansfield and Brockton, but they also take their programs “on the road” to daycare centers, public libraries and afterschool programs. HarborOne U provides financial literacy programs to students of all ages; from pre-school to high school. They will create a curriculum that is geared toward the specific needs of students and will travel to schools in the community.
