HarborOne Bank Names Linda H. Simmons Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
HarborOne Bank today announced that Linda H. Simmons has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She succeeds Joseph F. Casey, who was appointed President in February and also named to the Board of Directors.
Simmons joins HarborOne from the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, where she had been Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer since 2012.
“Linda Simmons has had a stellar career in banking and she is a highly skilled leader and strategic thinker,” said HarborOne Bank Chief Executive James W. Blake. “We are fortunate to have her join the HarborOne team.”
At the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Simmons oversaw all functions in finance, accounting, treasury, compliance, legal, human resources and government banking. She also played a critical role in establishing key functions such as internal legal counsel, project management, and commercial credit. She helped create the Chief Information Officer function and recruited top talent to join the Government Banking team in 2015 – establishing one of the first new business lines at Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod in many years.
“Linda’s expertise in corporate finance, bank operations and regulatory compliance will be critical to our continued success, and her strategic guidance will be a great asset as we seek new opportunities for growth,” said Joseph F. Casey, President and Chief Operating Officer of HarborOne.
Prior to her work at the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Simmons was a management consultant to the Narragansett Bay Insurance Company, and held positions at Bancorp Rhode Island, Bank of America and Citizens Financial Group.
Simmons received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Babson College and an MBA from Suffolk University.
She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, and CFO of the Cape Cod Natural History Museum. Simmons also serves on the Women’s Summit Program Committee for Bryant University, and previously served on the Board Finance Committee of Women & Infants Hospital in Providence. In 2011, the Providence Business News named Simmons CFO of the Year in the category of publicly traded companies.
