(Providence, RI) – September 28, 2022 – HarborOne Bank today announced that it has awarded $10,000 to Alskinny Brothers Health Foods of Quincy as the winner of HarborOne’s 2022 Small Business Pitch Contest.

Eight small business finalists presented and were interviewed at HarborOne’s branch in Providence on September 27th by a four-person judging panel that included: Nancy Lowd, Senior Business Advisor with Massachusetts Small Business Development Center; Ingrid Rodriguez, VP Business Service Officer, HarborOne Bank; Nick Bodine, VP Digital Lending Officer HarborOne Bank; and Glen Senior, CEO of The Small Business Company.

“For the 7th year in a row, HarborOne Bank has identified a group of small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs that really embody the drive of this region’s economy,” said Joseph Casey, President and CEO of HarborOne Bank. “This contest is always a highlight because it demonstrates some of the very best examples of small-business innovation in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.”

The panel of judges ultimately chose Alskinny Brothers Health Foods as the 2022 Pitch Contest winner for its well-thought-out business and marketing plan as well as the potential opportunities in the health food space.

“We’d like to express our deepest gratitude to the team at HarborOne for running an excellent small business pitch contest. The past years have been hard on small businesses and it’s encouraging to see companies like HarborOne stepping up to make a difference in their community, said Matt Alsksninis of Alskinny Brothers Health Foods.

Brothers Mike and Matt Alksninis, both fitness and health enthusiasts founded Alskinny in 2018. Unsatisfied with the selection of “healthy” granola options on the market, they created granola that was not only transparent, super healthy and tasted great, but also served a purpose for the “everyday athlete.”  The brothers include Mike, a former Army Captain turned tech consultant, and Matt, a former college punter turned finance consultant.

The remaining seven finalists were: Clean ‘n Brew of Orleans, MA; Anyhow Studio of Providence, RI; Destiny African Market & Variety Store of Randolph, MA; HI-JACK LLC of Falmouth, MA; Inventicomm LLC of Woonsocket, RI; RaynWater STEAM of Raynham, MA; and Wise Mouth Inc. of Foxboro, MA.
