(Providence, RI) – August 22, 2023 – The Boys & Girls Club of Providence (BGCP), was among twenty three recipients of HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island’s bi-annual grant awards benefiting local children and families. The Foundation’s donation of $25,000 to BGCP will support the organization’s efforts to ensure that more children can be safe, warm, and food secure so that they can be better prepared for school, work, and life.

Specifically, funding will go towards BGCP first-ever capacity building campaign - Investing in a Forever Change to renovate and expand the Wanskuck Clubhouse to serve the youth of today and tomorrow. The Wanskuck Clubhouse was founded in 1928 and the building has not undergone a major renovation since its founding.

“The HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island is honored to support the tremendous work of these nonprofits and community leaders,” said Jennifer White, Vice President Community Relations, HarborOne Bank and Board Member, HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island. “The Foundation’s efforts are centered on investing in programs and leaders who are having a transformative impact on their local community and the Boys & Girls Club of Providence is a wonderful example of just that -- fostering a safe, positive, and accepting environment where young people can grow and thrive.”

Since its inception, The HarborOne Foundation Rhode Island has invested over $1.25 million to support and expand the work of community non-profits including organizations that promote educational opportunity, create access to safe and affordable housing and provide basic human services to our most vulnerable citizens.
